The Little Church of the West
The Little Church of the West, located on the infamous Las Vegas "Strip," has been in operation for at least 70 years. As a well-known, award-winning business, the chapel draws in numerous couples who want to follow in the footsteps of celebrities like Mickey Rooney, Kelsey Grammer, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Dudley Moore. Additionally, Elvis Presley filmed a scene from the movie "Viva Las Vegas" in the chapel. The Little Church of the West seats up to 50 guests and holds up to 75 for a single ceremony, which lasts about 20 minutes. It also provides witnesses if needed. Couples are interested in this wedding chapel for more than its celebrity notoriety. It is a famed historic building in Las Vegas that was established as a section of the Last Frontier Resort. It used to be part of the casino and hotel, but the chapel is now a separate entity and focuses exclusively on weddings and vow renewals. The chapel's "Old West" architecture was patterned on the Gothic Revival tradition with relics taken from 19th century cable cars. Although the building itself has moved three times, it maintains its original structure and appeal. The Little Church of the West includes a professional photographer's services with every ceremony. Photos are uploaded onto the chapel's website so that family and friends may view, buy, and print photos from the ceremony. Most galleries are open to the public, but couples can choose to password-protect their photos. Customers can also buy their images printed on coffee mugs and other products. The video recording service is another specialty offered at The Little Church of the West. Couples may request a webcam feed so that friends and family in other locations can watch the ceremony after it occurs.
