How much will you be paying?

How long will you be staying?

You and your hubby will have to figure out how many vacation days are allotted from work. Keep in mind, you’ll probably have to take a day or two off prior to the wedding for any last minute wedding planning. Some brides will even take the whole week off leading up to the wedding. You’ll then have to decide when you want to leave for the honeymoon. Commonly, couples will leave the morning following the wedding. If you don’t have a lot of vacation days at work, simple do a weekend getaway and just take off the following Monday. You can always save up later on to take a real honeymoon for your first anniversary.

Where will you be going?

Both you and your man should write down a list of the top places you want to go. Write down about two or three options each and compare notes. Remember that a honeymoon is slightly different than a regular vacation. Perhaps, you’ve always wanted to go to Paris to see all the architecture and museums. Though Paris is a romantic city, sightseeing isn’t likely going to be on your agenda during the honeymoon. Most couples choose a warm place near the beach, so they can just relax and spend quality time together. Others enjoy the cold weather so they choose to stay in a cabin in the mountains.

Do you need a travel agent?

Sure, in today’s digital age, everyone will do the booking online. However, a travel agent can be extremely helpful. It’s fairly common that hotels will offer special deals for newlyweds. The travel agent will guide you to these places. Perhaps, they’ll even recommend a place you’ve never considered before. Travel agents are experts in all things regarding tourist season and weather.
